Conference/U.S. Filter Partner for Meet the Mayors Program

January 29, 2001

During the 2001 Winter Meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors, Conference President Boise Mayor H. Brent Coles announced that U.S. Filter Services Group is now the exclusive sponsor of the Conference's Meet the Mayors program. The program gives mayors the opportunity to showcase their cities through a rich, online database of mayoral video clips, photos, contact information and links to city web sites. The searchable database is accessible to all and is part of usmayors.org, the Conference's web site. According to Mike Stark, U.S. Filter president, the program allows mayors to put important information online about their cities so that "people looking for a great place to live and to work consider the advantages that you bring."

Forty-five mayors filmed the second round of video clips for the Meet the Mayors program during the Winter Meeting. In filming the clips, entitled "Did you know that my cityÉ", mayors offered interesting trivia and little-known facts about the cities they run. The first round of clips were filmed during the 2000 Annual Meeting in Seattle. In Seattle, over 100 videos were produced with the theme "Why you should visit my cityÉ" All clips can be viewed online at usmayors.org.
