Violence Prevention Program

The New Britain Violence Prevention Program was established in September of 1993, with $50,000 in funding from the United Way. The project is an educational effort aimed at New Britain's school children aged 3 to 18 years of age.

The effort, involving two civilian employees and 2 volunteers, offers a puppet show addressing the issues of family violence, safety planning and resources for those children in Kindergarten through the fifth grade. Students in grades 6 through 12 receive educational instruction on dating violence.
