"Palo Alto has a long tradition as a city commiteed to environmentalsim, including its open space, cicycle and pedestrian friendly policies, progressive recycling, clean water and air initiatives, green energy programs and community-wide sustainability land use and design principles. Stil, we can and must do more to counter the growing threats of climate change. We are proud to join in the concerted efforts of other cities in taking specific actions to reduce the effects of global warming, beginning here in our city.
