MEDIA ADVISORY: PRESS CONFERENCE WITH NATION’S MAYORS AND CONGRESSIONAL LEADERS ON H.R. 1300 – BROWNFIELDS/SUPERFUND LEGISLATION
Mayor Morial of New Orleans, Mayor Marshall of Macon, Mayor Turner of Dayton will join House Water Resources and Environment Subcommittee Chairman Sherwood Boehlert and Congressman Cal Dooley in holding a Press Conference to call for passage of H.R. 1300 –"Recycle America’s Land Act.
The United States Conference of Mayors has made passage of Brownfields legislation a top priority in the 106th Congress. Brownfields are abandoned or underutilized properties where expansion or redevelopment is complicated by real or perceived contamination. Chairman Boehlert’s Water Resources and Environment subcommittee will hold a hearing on H.R. 1300 immediately following this press conference.
