Olympic Mayor, Olympic Legend Announce Mayors' Sports Challenge at NikeTown Store in New York City
Mayor Deedee Corradini Joins Olympian Carl Lewis to Launch New National Program to Encourage Students to Run, Build Pride, School Spirit

WHAT: | In a joint effort to motivate kids and help them develop a life-long passion for running, The U.S. Conference of Mayors and NikeTown have developed the Mayors' Sports Challenge Program. Olympic Gold Medalist Carl Lewis, Salt Lake City Mayor Deedee Corradini, Nike VP of Global Retail Charlie Baker and New York Sports Commissioner Ken Podziba will be joined by 20 New York City school kids to announce the program on Tues., Sept. 1 at 10 a.m. at NikeTown New York City. Following the event, Mayor Corradini and Carl Lewis will stretch with the kids and take them on a one-mile run. |
