Building on the advocacy effort that resulted in the inclusion of major city priorities in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), The U.S. Conference of Mayors has launched a new Web page intended to assist cities in implementing the ARRA.
By going directly to the usmayors.org homepage, or by bookmarking usmayors.org/recovery, mayors and their staff will be able to find the latest information on ARRA grant announcements and federal guidelines. The first item listed is a detailed implementation chart called “Key Program Summaries,” which provides updates on almost 90 federal programs including links to federal funding allocations, application information, grant guidance, and agency contacts.
Also available on the Web site is information on economic recovery efforts in America’s cities and local best practices, along with obstacles cities are encountering, especially at the state level. Cities are encouraged to share their ARRA-related activities and best practices or obstacles with the Conference. Information should be sent to email@example.com.
