Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson LLP, a Platinum Partner with the Conference of Mayors has been named one of the Top Companies for Women in 2009. The distinction was made by Pink magazine, which noted that more companies are recognizing the importance of women’s advancement in the workplace. Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson was the only law firm in the nation selected and joins an elite group of honorees.
The magazine selected its honorees based on women’s high representation in positions of power among top earners and by examining management’s commitment to its female staff. The magazine also took into consideration the life/work balance in terms of giving women equal opportunity for a rewarding life away from the office. “There is strength in diversity, and our firm has made a commitment to provide opportunities at its highest levels,” said DeMetris A. Sampson, capital partner, managing partner of the Dallas office and member of the firm’s national Management Committee. ” I am fortunate that the founders followed a policy of inclusion and that they were responsive to the governments that were present.”
Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson is the largest law firm in the United States that dedicates its practice to the collection of government receivables and delinquent taxes. The company has more than 1,500 employees, of which than 1,000 are women. The firm carries a 90 percent retention rate.
“The recognition by Pink is such an honor but not a surprise. My personal experience with this firm has been that advancement and opportunity come with merit and dedication,” said Barbara Williams, capital partner in the Fort Worth office and member of the firm’s national Management Committee. Linebarger joins an impressive list of companies being honored, including American Express, Capital One, KPMG, Liz Claiborne, Manpower, MetLife, Turner Broadcasting System and Walmart.
Linebarger has been a member of the U.S. Conference of Mayors Business Council for over ten years.
